Meet Carissa Bright, Senior Manager, Customer Service for Buffalo Jeans, RG Avirex, Caterpillar and IZOD.
What is your role at Centric Brands?
My current role at Centric Brands is a Senior Manager for Customer Service supporting supply chain operations for the brands Buffalo, RG Avirex, Caterpillar and Izod.
The 2022 theme for International Women’s Day is #BreakTheBias. What does the hashtag mean to you?
#BreakTheBias means be your authentic self. Don’t be occupied worrying about what everyone else thinks. Let your voice be heard, show confidence and be strong. Be a cheerleader for someone, showing kindness and grace. Forgive and be accountable!
What is the best advice you have been given?
“Get comfortable with being uncomfortable.”
“Be more gracious than you feel.”
“Encourage the heart.”
Who in your career has been a mentor and why?
An old manager of mine from when I worked at Ralph Lauren and another manager from when I was in the Kids division. They were examples of strength, grace and class. I was able to learn how to navigate through tough times not just professionally but personally as well. They showed me that you can come out on the other end better and stronger by having thick skin, staying focused on what’s important and do your best not to get sucked into the negativity!
Tell us about a hobby you enjoy outside of work and why.
I enjoy working out at my local Burn Bootcamp. My daughter, Casey comes with me as well. Not only does she make an awesome work out partner, but she motivates me and holds me accountable. Burn Bootcamp is something that we bond over and it serves as an outlet that gives me the opportunity to work off the daily stresses of life!
