ASSOCIATE SPOTLIGHT SERIES: AN INTERVIEW WITH CHRIS REN

Meet Chris Ren, Marketing Coordinator, Mens E-Commerce for Buffalo Jeans.

What is your role at Centric Brands? How long have you been with the company?

I’ve been a Digital Marketing Coordinator for Buffalo David Bitton since May 2018. I workwith digital marketing agencies and deliver assets needed for online campaigns, providing support on account settings and more. With the expansion of our e–commerce business, my role has continued to evolve as well. I have taken on responsibilities for other channels like email, SMS and supporting our Shopify store, including our loyalty program, page builder, script editor, promo setting, etc. Lots of challenges but lots of fun! 

What have you enjoyed most about working at Centric Brands?

The work atmosphere! E-commerce is developing at a fast pace, which means we must have the ability to take on new challenges and solve new issues that we have never encountered before. Luckily, I am part of a great team where everyone is super nice and supportive, always willing to share their experiences and ideas.

Can you tell us about a favorite projection worked on?

When we moved our e–commerce business to Shopify in 2020, the new platform gave us many opportunities to implement features that we had always wanted but could not do before. It was also a big challenge because it was brand new for everyone. I was learning new things every day and enjoying the sense of accomplishment that comes from completing new tasks successfully. 

Why is building community important to you?

It means sharing, learning, supporting and growing. We spend 1/3 of our time at work, and my teammates are like another family to me. No matter what difficulties I encounter at work, I know that I’m not alone, giving me the courage to be bold.
