Meet Courtney Brown, Operations Manager at Centric Brands Europe. Courtney plays a vital role in the success of the Accessories division. She ensures products get where they need to go—on time and with precision—by coordinating wholesale fulfillment and optimizing order processes across a wide portfolio of brands.
Early Interest in Fashion, Evolved into Operations
“There’s just something about the energy here,” Courtney says, reflecting on what initially drew her to the industry. She always knew she wanted to work in fashion—it felt familiar, exciting, and full of momentum. What she didn’t anticipate was how much she’d come to love the systems behind it.
Over time, she held a range of roles across the fashion and retail space, each one giving her a clearer picture of the full product lifecycle. Eventually, her interest in numbers, structure and process began to take center stage. “I’ve worn a lot of hats,” she says, “but my passion led me here.”
Today, she thrives in the fast-paced world of operations, where every day brings a new challenge—and a new opportunity to make things better.
Driving Operational Efficiency
Today, Courtney is responsible for the end-to-end flow of wholesale orders—from coordinating with warehouses to aligning with sales teams and customer service.
“There are a lot of moving parts, and flexibility is key,” she explains. “I need to make sure everything is working together toward the same goal.”
Her focus is always on efficiency, accuracy and finding ways to improve the process while keeping things moving.
A Solution-Oriented Mindset
Her approach to problem-solving has always been rooted in adaptability and a solution-focused mindset. “Staying calm in the face of challenges is important,” she says.
Whether it’s a new process, change in priority or an unexpected hiccup, I’ve learned to stay open-minded and focus on finding solutions.
Courtney’s ability to adapt and her deep understanding of both operational and commercial aspects set her apart. She’s known for her collaborative approach, working closely with teams to align priorities and ensure everyone is working toward a common goal. “Clear communication and proactive problem-solving are key,” she says. “When everyone works as one, it’s incredible what can be accomplished.”
Community Champion
Beyond her work responsibilities, Courtney contributes to building a positive work culture as an active member of the Community Committee. She helps organize events that bring colleagues together, fostering stronger team connections outside of the office. “Building relationships is just as important as the work we do,” she notes.
Balancing Work and Personal Growth
Though maintaining a work-life balance in a fast-paced role can be challenging, Courtney makes time for the things that recharge her. “Spending quality time with friends and family, especially over a sunny day and a good ‘braai,’ is essential for me,” she shares.
Courtney is also committed to personal growth. “I’m learning salsa right now,” she laughs. “It’s a fun challenge and a great way to engage a different part of my brain.” Her resilience, curiosity and willingness to learn continue to fuel her success both at Centric Brands and in her personal life.
Through her journey, Courtney has grown both professionally and personally. With a clear focus on the bigger picture, a passion for collaboration and a drive for continuous improvement, she’s making a lasting impact—one order at a time.
