Meet Ellen Confino, Senior Licensing Director, Kids Division at Centric Brands. In her interview, Ellen shares her innovative approach to problem solving by integrating new systems to drive efficiency on her team.
Can you tell us about your role and what your team does?
My team and I manage an extensive library of approximately 10,000 images, annually. A highlight in my career at Centric Brands was the successful integration of our Digital Asset Management (DAM) platform for e-commerce photography. In my role, I focus on developing and implementing organizational processes to make the DAM experience as efficient and user-friendly as possible.
I also create extensive style guides for our photo studio to ensure consistent ecommerce image integrity. A detailed shot list accompanies each batch of samples to the photo studio, specifying image expectations. Post-studio work, my team and I conduct quality control checks and add metadata to each style. Final images are then uploaded to our DAM and to retail portals.
Describe a project or initiative you initiated that required significant innovation or creativity:
With pride, I championed the vision and creation of our in-house photography studio at Centric Brands, marking one of my most innovative initiatives. Recognizing the inefficiencies and costs of outsourcing product photography, I pursued the vision of an in-house studio. Presenting the idea to key stakeholders, leadership, and anyone willing to listen, I advocated for the long-term benefits of time and cost savings for our division and other brands.
What’s something surprising that not many people know about you?
Although I’ve always been a dog lover, I recently welcomed a kitten into my home and named him Nick. I’ve been pleasantly surprised by his affectionate and lovable nature. Not only does he bring joy, but he also serves as a great source of stress relief!
