Meet Laul Ye, Senior Manager, Operations, at Centric Brands. Laul spearheads the Asia team for supply chain end-to-end management, and is based in Panyu, China. 

In his interview, Laul shares his expertise in managing multiple systems and implementing process standardization and improvement measures. 

Can you tell us about your role and what your team does?  

In my role, I am responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the entire supply chain, from end to end. My team is primarily focused on handling the following key tasks:

  • Processing purchase orders (PO) efficiently and accurately and reviewing the documentation and rectifying any data discrepancies.  
  • Coordinating with the Logistics Operations team to address any cargo-related issues. 
  • Responsible for coordinating the setup and maintenance of vendor and factory profiles across different systems like INFOR, SAP and OSCA. 
  • The team organizes and delivers comprehensive training sessions for both internal and external users on various systems. By using data analysis and reporting, the team creates vendor scorecards to evaluate performance. 

By effectively managing these tasks, my team contributes to the efficient and seamless functioning of the entire supply chain, ultimately supporting the success of Centric Brands. 

What is a current project you’re working on that is especially exciting for you?  

Currently, I am forming our Centric Asia team to reclaim the cotton traceability responsibility from the Li Fung Global Transactional Services team. It is inspiring to leverage my supply chain experience and knowledge to establish our in-house Centric team to reduce company costs and enhance operational efficiency.  

Can you tell us a professional success story you’re proud of? 

I recall my journey of personal growth, transitioning from a Supply Chain Assistant to a Senior Manager in my previous role. The pivotal factor behind this achievement was my unwavering commitment to continuous learning and enhancing my productivity. I consider collaboration and troubleshooting extremely important when interacting with internal and external customers. 

I aim to foster a culture of encouragement and inspiration within my team. We embrace the philosophy of learning from one another, recognizing that collective success is the outcome we strive for. 

What are some of your hobbies?

I have several hobbies, including playing basketball and football, reading books, and spending time with my friends, among others. Currently, I am pursuing an MBA on weekends, aiming to enhance my skills and knowledge for my current job and future career plans.
