ASSOCIATE SPOTLIGHT SERIES: AN INTERVIEW WITH SARA SHEA

July 23, 2024

In our Associate Spotlight series, we are highlighting associates across the company who are shaping our community and who embody our Centric Brands philosophy every day.

Meet Sara Shea, Manager, Operations Compliance, Logistics. Through combining her legal expertise, leadership experience and strategic foresight, Sara has taken a proactive approach in safeguarding compliance while driving operational excellence.

Can you share insights about your role and responsibilities?

As the Operations Compliance Manager for the West Coast Distribution Centers, my primary responsibility is ensuring our distribution centers (DC) meet and exceed our customer compliance standards. Each day involves reviewing compliance checklists, addressing discrepancies and implementing efficient solutions. I collaborate with various departments to enhance safety, streamline processes and develop comprehensive training programs.

My role is important in maintaining seamless operations and delivering exceptional service to our customers, making compliance a cornerstone of our success at Centric.

What aspect of your day-to-day responsibilities do you find most rewarding?

I find great fulfillment in taking a proactive approach to seeking and executing resolutions that not only address challenges but also make a significant positive financial impact for the Company. It’s incredibly rewarding to see how these efforts contribute to the overall success and growth of the organization.

What is one quality that you bring to your role that you think makes you stand out?

One quality that sets me apart is my ability to cultivate and leverage strong relationships with carriers, vendor contacts and transportation teams. These relationships not only facilitate smooth operations but also enable me to negotiate effectively, optimize logistics, and ensure timely delivery of goods and services. This collaborative approach enhances efficiency and strengthens partnerships that are crucial to the Company’s success.

What’s something surprising that not many people know about you?

Once a week, I volunteer at the “A Dog’s Day Out” program at Guilford County Animal Services. This program allows me to take a dog out for a day of fun and adventure away from the shelter, which is both rewarding and enjoyable. It provides the dogs with the opportunity to release pent-up energy and benefit from mental stimulation through new experiences and interactions. Through this program, I have also adopted four dogs.
